Poems

I enjoy writing poetry in my spare time. Most of them are too personal to share, but here are a few selected ones.

off my way

I had desired to see the world with you
I thought you felt the same

You said as much
Let’s buy a sail boat, explore the oceans and the coasts

But it doesn’t feel that way now
You are always too tired

All you want to do is watch TV
Drink wine and forget the stress of the week

I can’t be weighed down by you anymore
I have to cut the ballast free

One day on my great explorations
I may find you again

But for now I will be alone at sea

No Hair-dryers Theorem

Lately I’m just waiting for my hair to dry
Burned before, blow-dryers are a no-go
I turn to towels to tease out the water
The wind’s waves crash down on my wet strands
I rake my fingers to row through the tide
Soon my brush swoops down and glides through
Brush then rake, brush then rake
And hope my hair turns out okay

Giving up

Two slopers
Push right to hold the start
Right to crimp
Left to crimp
Reach up for the jug

Up I climb again and again
Mastering the start
I cannot yet reach the top
But I will next session

Two slopers
Push right to hold the start
Right to crimp
Left to crimp
Reach up for the jug

Up I climb again and again
Mastering the start
I cannot yet reach the top
But I will next session

Two slopers
Push right to hold the start
Right to crimp
Left to crimp
Reach up for the jug

Feet slip
Arm falls against the wall
Out of place, it dislocates
Ages pass in my mind
But it quickly pulls itself back in
Full range of motion, it’s fine
But I will not climb again
